‘Lord Alan Sugar ‘undergoes heart operation in the US to fix narrowed artery

Lord Alan Sugar underwent a heart operation in the United States recently, after being pushed to do something about it by his friends and family.

The Apprentice star, 69, is believed to have had the surgery to fix a narrowed artery.

Lord Sugar was enjoying a break in Florida over the winter break last month when he underwent the procedure.

Over the weekend, the fitness fanatic looked happy and healthy once again when he shared a picture taken in the cockpit of a plane.

“Flying with instructor Spencer Rich acting as pilot in command,” he wrote but added that he won’t be able to pilot a plane himself for three months after the insertion of a stent, which is a meshed tube designed to improve blood flow.

And just days before that, he posted a shot of himself playing tennis with ex-Wimbledon champion Jimmy Connors.

“I remember when these balls first came out and @ JimmyConnors did this at Wimbledon,” he wrote next to the smiling shot.

At the beginning of the year, the 69-year-old hinted at the problem when he joked that his cardiologist wouldn’t be happy with his breakfast – a giant sized fry up.

His spokesman Andrew Block confirmed that he had a stent fitted following an angiogram, adding: “He was on the mend within a few days and cleared to resume exercise after 4 weeks.

“He’s in perfect medical health now and can play tennis and ride his bike for 40 miles regularly once again.”
